Al joined the Ritchie Law Firm in 2011 and is the firm’s primary counsel for the Charlottesville and Staunton offices. Throughout his career, Al has concentrated his practice on civil litigation and has acquired substantial jury trial experience in a wide variety of negligence cases. Al currently focuses his practice exclusively on representing injured persons in the areas of personal injury and worker’s compensation, as well as Social Security disability matters. Al grew up in the Shenandoah Valley and Charlottesville, graduated from Charlottesville High School, the University of Virginia in 1991, and George Mason School of Law in 1995. Immediately upon graduating from law school Al returned to Charlottesville to begin practicing law.
Since 1995 Al has handled a wide variety of civil litigation matters in state and federal courts throughout Virginia, at the trial and appellate levels, including wrongful death, traumatic brain injury, and product liability claims, as well as insurance coverage disputes, and claims against municipalities. Al is admitted to practice before the Virginia Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
